4. Cookies
We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files that are automatically generated by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our site. Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device, do not contain viruses, trojans or other malware.
The cookie stores information that is related to the specific device being used. This does not mean, however, that we obtain direct knowledge of your identity.
On the one hand, the use of cookies serves to make the experience of our offer more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted when you leave our site.
In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimize user-friendliness, which are stored on your end device for a certain defined period of time. If you return to our site to use our services, we automatically recognize that you have been here before and what entries and settings you made so that you do not have to enter them again.
On the other hand, we use cookies to record the use of our website statistically and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you (see item 5). These cookies enable us to automatically recognize that you have previously visited our site when you return. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.
The data processed by cookies are necessary for the above-mentioned purposes in order to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser in such a way that no cookies are stored on your computer or so that a message always appears before a new cookie is generated. However, disabling cookies completely may mean that you cannot use all the features of our website.
5. Analysis tools
Tracking tools
The tracking measures listed below and used by us are implemented on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We use these tracking measures to ensure a needs-based design and the ongoing optimization of our website. On the other hand, we use the tracking measures to record the use of our website statistically and evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate in terms of the above-mentioned regulation.
The respective data processing purposes and data categories can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.
i) Google Analytics
For the purpose of designing our pages in a user-oriented manner and continuously optimizing them, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google"). In this context, pseudonymized user profiles are created and cookies (see item 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website such as
- type/version of browser,
- operating system used,
- referrer URL (the previously accessed page),
- host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
- time of server request,
is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide further services connected with the use of the website and the Internet for the purposes of market research and the user-oriented design of these Internet pages. This information may also be transferred to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on our behalf. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are made anonymous, so that an assignment is not possible (IP masking).
You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, please note that this may prevent you from being able to use the full functionality of this website.
You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
As an alternative to the browser add-on, in particular in the case of browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie is then set to prevent future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again.
Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found in the Google Analytics Help Guide (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de).
ii) Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
To statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate your data for the purpose of optimizing our website, we also use Google Conversion Tracking. For this, Google Adwords sets a cookie (see item 4) on your computer if you have reached our website via a Google ad.
These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the AdWords client's website and the cookie has not expired, Google and the client can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page.
Every Adwords client receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked through the websites of Adwords clients. The information collected with the help of the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for Adwords clients who have opted for conversion tracking. The Adwords clients learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive information that personally identifies users.
If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie necessary for this – for example, by changing your browser setting to generally disable the automatic setting of cookies. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the googleadservices domain. You can find Google's privacy policy on conversion tracking here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).
6. Social media plug-ins/Plug-ins
On the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO, we use social plug-ins of the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on our website to promote awareness of us there. The underlying advertising purpose shall be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the DSGVO. The responsibility for data protection-compliant operation shall be guaranteed by their respective providers. The integration of these plug-ins by us takes place by means of the so-called two-click method in order to provide the best possible protection for visitors to our website.
a) Facebook
Social media plug-ins from Facebook are used on our website in order to personalize its use. For this, we use the "LIKE" or "SHARE" button. This is an offer from Facebook.
When you access a page of our website that contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser, which integrates it into the website.
Through the integration of the plug-ins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to our website directly to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the "LIKE" or "SHARE" button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for the purposes of advertising, market research and the user-oriented design of Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your corresponding rights and setting options to protect your privacy, please see Facebook's privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).
b) Twitter
Plug-ins of the short messaging network Twitter Inc. (Twitter) are integrated on our website. You can recognize the Twitter plug-ins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. You can find an overview of tweet buttons here (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).
If you access a page on our website that contains such a plug-in, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. Twitter thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter "tweet button" while you are logged in to your Twitter account, you can link the contents of our pages on your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to associate the visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter.
If you do not want Twitter to be able to track your visit to our site, please log out of your Twitter account.
For more information, please see Twitter's privacy policy (https://twitter.com/privacy).
c) Instagram
Our website also uses so-called social plug-ins ("plug-ins") from Instagram, which is operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA ("Instagram").
The plug-ins are marked with an Instagram logo, for example in the form of an "Instagram camera".
When you access a page on our site that contains such a plug-in, your browser will establish a direct connection to Instagram's servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Instagram directly to your browser and integrated into the page. This integration informs Instagram that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not logged in to Instagram.
This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to an Instagram server in the United States and stored there. If you are logged in to Instagram, Instagram can directly associate your visit to our website with your Instagram account. When you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the "Instagram" button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there.
The information is also published to your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts.
If you do not want Instagram to associate the information collected through our website directly with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website.
For more information, please see Instagram's privacy policy (https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388).
d) XING
This website uses the "XING Share Button". When you access this website, your browser will establish a short-term connection to servers of XING AG ("XING"), which are be used to perform the "XING Share Button" functions (in particular the calculation/display of the counter value). XING does not store any of your personal data when you access this website. In particular, XING does not store any IP addresses. There is also no evaluation of your usage behavior through the use of cookies in connection with the "XING Share Button". You can find the current data protection information on the "XING Share Button" and additional information on this website: https://www.xing.com/app/share?op=data_protection
e) LinkedIn
This website contains plug-ins of the social network LinkedIn of LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as "LinkedIn"). You can recognize the LinkedIn plug-ins by the LinkedIn logo or the "share button" ("Recommend") on this website. When you visit this website, the plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the LinkedIn server. LinkedIn is thereby informed that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you click on the LinkedIn "share button" while you are logged in to your LinkedIn account, you can link the contents of this website on your LinkedIn profile. This allows LinkedIn to associate your visit to this website with your LinkedIn account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by LinkedIn. You can find details of the collection of data (purpose, scope, further processing, use) as well as your rights and setting options in LinkedIn's privacy policy. LinkedIn provides this information at http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=privacy_policy&trk=hb_ft_priv.
f) Use of YouTube plug-ins
We use the provider YouTube, among others, for the integration of videos. YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC with headquarters at 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube is represented by Google Inc. with headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
We use plug-ins from the provider YouTube on some of our Internet pages. If you access the Internet pages of our website that feature such a plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers is established and the plug-in is displayed. This tells the YouTube server which of our Internet pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of YouTube, YouTube assigns this information to your personal user account. When you use the plug-in, e.g. when you click on the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your YouTube account and other accounts of the companies YouTube LLC and Google Inc. before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies of the companies.
You can find further information on data processing and notes on data protection by YouTube (Google) at www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
